Some books you read and forget. Others quietly rearrange something inside you. These are the ones that shifted how I think about my body, my choices, my healing, and what it means to actually live. No particular order. Just books that meant something.

The Surrender Experiment | Michael A. Singer

This book is a constant reminder to let go and go with the flow. Singer spent decades saying yes to whatever life put in front of him instead of fighting for control. I'm still learning this. My own need for control and anxiety make surrender a practice, not a destination. If you struggle with the same, this book will meet you there.

Signs | Laura Lynne Jackson

My son's early childhood teacher recommended this one and I'm grateful she did. Jackson writes about communication beyond the physical. Messages from people we've lost, from the universe, from something bigger than what we can see. I tried it myself. I have my own penny and dime story. Read it with an open mind.

Animal Speak | Ted Andrews

I found this book through a guided meditation program I was doing. Animals started showing up for me in the meditations and in my everyday life. When I had questions about what they meant, my teacher (Cheryl Stelte) pointed me here. If you've ever noticed an animal appearing repeatedly and felt like it meant something, it probably did.

Cracking Open: Adventures of a Reluctant Medium | Isabeau Maxwell

I found this through Beau's SAGE Method program, which a friend highly recommended. Maxwell writes about opening to her intuitive gifts when she wasn't looking for them and wasn't sure she wanted them. Going through the SAGE Method myself, I had my own experiences with spirit. If you're curious about intuition or mediumship, read this one.

How to Do the Work | Dr. Nicole LePera

Dr. LePera breaks down the connection between childhood patterns, the nervous system, and adult behavior without making it feel heavy or clinical.

Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself | Dr. Joe Dispenza

I read this one, then came back to it on audio. Dr. Dispenza’s energy in the meditations took some getting used to if you're used to slower, more relaxing meditation styles. I would love to attend one of his retreats.

You Can Heal Your Body | Louise Hay

The grandmother of mind-body healing. Hay's work on the connection between thought patterns and physical symptoms is foundational. Some of it you'll take, some you'll leave. But the core message that your inner world shapes your outer experience is hard to argue with.

Against All Grain | Danielle Walker

Our family had to go gluten and dairy free, and this book made it doable. Walker's health comeback story is inspiring. Everything I made from this book was delicious. If you're navigating a similar transition with your family, start here.

The Paleo Cardiologist | Dr. Jack Wolfson

I heard Dr. Wolfson speak at a conference in Vermont many years ago and had him sign my copy. I found his talk fascinating. He connects heart health to diet, environment, and lifestyle in a way conventional medicine rarely does and backs it up with root cause thinking. I still refer to it when it comes to my health.

Eat Pray Love | Elizabeth Gilbert

Gilbert's year across Italy, India, and Bali is a story about what happens when you stop abandoning yourself.

Ten Years a Nomad | Matthew Kepnes

After my own international travel experiences and a wanderlust that never really quieted down, this one resonated. Kepnes spent a decade traveling the world with almost nothing and built a life around it.

Heal the Issues in Your Throat Chakra and Shine | Cheryl Stelte

I found Cheryl through her throat chakra healing program and it changed things for me in ways I'm still integrating. She is a master healer and spiritual teacher with decades of study behind her work. If you've ever felt like you couldn't show up as your authentic self or struggled to find your voice, this is worth your time.

If even one of these finds you at the right time, that's enough. Happy reading.
